Thran's Flowers is a third generation legacy, serving our area with excellence and beauty since 1982.

Grandmother, Mother, and Daughter

Lois Thran, Retired

Lois Thran, Mother of Barbara and Grandmother of Katie, started the business in 1982.  Lois had received a small inheritance and decided to open a flower shop. Her plan was to open a unique flower shop, different from your standard bucket shop.  She wasn’t sure how our small town would react to such different and distinctive designs.  With the help of her daughter, Barbara, the business quickly grew into a locals favorite spot for flowers. Eventually Barbara took over the business in 1988.  Lois lives a beautiful life nearby in a small farm community.  We can sometimes persuade her to come into the store to help make garlands, corsages or any simple tasks.  We are truly proud of the business she created and proudly live up to the standards she set.

Barbara Thran-Anderson, Retired

Barbara Thran-Anderson, the owner of Thran's Flowers is recognized for her accomplishments on a local and national level. She has received a number of awards in the floral industry, as well as having done work for celebrities, a major motion picture and numerous national corporations. Her work has been featured at national floral symposiums, design shows, demonstrations, magazines, and on television. She was also chosen to design for the 1999 Academy Awards and President Bush's Inauguration, both in 2001 and 2005.

Katie Long, Owner

Katie Long, daughter of Barbara, has been active within the family floral business all her life and took over the business in 2020. Since learning the art of floral design under the influence of National and International Master Designers, she was inducted into AIFD (American Institute of Floral Designers) in Orlando in July 2000. She was invited to do her first International design show in Canada in April 2000. She also had the opportunity of being a featured designer in AIFD Across America in 2001. In July of 2002, she was asked to design her first solo show for AIFD symposium in San Diego. The show was themed "Weddings with a Twist" which showed a twist from the traditional wedding bouquet. She also had the pleasure to be on President Bush's Inauguration team, with her mother, in 2005.

Refrigeration & Delivery

We are the only flower shop in our community with refrigerated vehicles.  We strive to produce the best quality product and the key to our success is to make sure the flowers are fresh when they arrive to your doorstep.  Our refrigerated vehicles are key for wedding setups that require us to drive an hour or more.  We can arrive to your wedding location hours before the start time to setup knowing we can pull out your flowers moments before you walk down the aisle.  Don’t settle for wilted hydrangea from other vendors!

Delivery fees will be assessed based on the location and size of your event.
